Great Debates

This was a week for great debates.  McCain and Obama faced off in the final presidential debate before the election earlier this week.  

Although the US presidential debate may have received more coverage in the media, two other important debates took place this week as well.  Students in our Topics in the Media class debated over whether or not fast food companies should be held responsible for making people obese.  They also debated over whether or not globalization has a negative impact on global warming.    

Both topics were tough and all the teams found some good research to support their views.  I was pretty impressed!

Topics in the Media

My favorite topic in the media is...well, I have a few favorite topics. I like learning about health, politics, business news, and interviews. I really like listening to the radio, especially NPR. Some of my favorite programs include, This American Life, Fresh Air, and Market Place, to name a few.
